Portocala
La prânz am cumpărat o portocală uriașă –
Mărimea ei ne-a făcut pe toți să râdem pe săturate.
Am decojit-o și am împărțit-o cu Robert și Dave –
Ei au primit sferturi, eu, jumătate.
Portocala aceea m-a făcut fericită,
Așa cum, în ultima vreme, numai lucrurile simple mă pot face
Cumpărături. O plimbare în parc.
Mulțumire deplină, și-apoi ceva nou: o binevenită pace.
Restul zilei a fost destul de ușor.
Am făcut toate treburile din lista mea, până la cel mai mic amănunt
M-am bucurat de ele, și mi-a mai rămas ceva timp.
Te iubesc. Ce bine că sunt!

The orange
At lunchtime I bought a huge orange –
The size of it made us all laugh.
I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave –
They got quarters and I had a half.
And that orange, it made me so happy,
As ordinary things often do
Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park.
This is peace and contentment. It’s new.
The rest of the day was quite easy.
I did all the jobs on my list
And enjoyed them and had some time over.
I love you. I’m glad I exist.
